News about Glenn Springer

With sadness, we wanted to let everyone know that we lost our father, Glenn Springer yesterday. Many of you know he had been struggling with a recurrence of cancer and he succumbed to it Wednesday at his home in Toronto.

We know Glenn had many close friends from all walks of life who cared deeply for him and admired his wide array of interests. He was, variously, a great outdoorsman, a photographer, a motorcyclist, an entrepreneur, a blogger and all-around early tech adopter, and an educator in many forms and to the benefit of many.

He really appreciated all of your support through these last difficult few months, as well as the excellent care he received at Princess Margaret and Toronto General Hospitals. We and Glenn’s sister, Barbara Levine, have also appreciated your kind words and generosity.

We welcome friends and family at a service to be held at Benjamin’s Park Memorial Chapel in Thornhill (2401 Steeles Avenue West, 3 lights west of Dufferin) this Sunday, March 8, at 9:00am. (Note Sunday is the start of daylight savings time). More details here.

We are planning to send further details about a place to gather in the Toronto area after the service.

Internment will take place at Adath Israel Section at Baron de Hersh Cemetery in Montreal on Monday, March 9, at 12:00pm.

Memorial donations can be made to Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, 416-946-6560.
